Day four is complete, and the students were very engaged today! We kickstarted the beginners class off having them demonstrate their progress with memorizing and understanding the initial part of the assessment framework, including scene overview, general patient impression, LOC and ABC’s. Although ample more practice is required, we have seen incredible improvement already! They finished the class learning all about open and closed injuries accompanied by all the exciting pictures (that we find exciting anyways haha).
The advanced class started their day by testing their classmates on the scenarios they had been tasked to create on day three. The activity was a huge success. All of the scenarios were well executed and the students agreed it gave them a whole new understanding and perspective! This will certainly not be the last of this task.
We can hardly believe that a single day remains in week one of CUES Phase 3. Although there is a lot of material left to cover before graduation, the students have come a long way from day one. We are so impressed with their progress thus far.
Paul will be flying solo tomorrow, Ben is off trekking the exotic Rwenzori mountains, while Meg and Alex abandon him for the day to vacation with Uganda’s extensive wildlife population. We will surely have some exciting updates in the near future, you don’t want to miss!!
