Volunteer Opportunity

The Canada Uganda EMS Society is requesting applicants for volunteer positions for Phase 6.  This phase will take place January 29 to February 10, 2023 in Kampala, Uganda.

Successful candidates will be working in the following positions:

1. Instructor, First Aid – Teaching First Aid/CPR to community members

2. Instructor, Advanced – Reviewing and upgrading the skills and knowledge of our present Tweyambe team

3. Preceptor – working on the ambulance with our practitioners giving practical advice and guidance during calls and ensuring acceptable care is provided. . Rotations will vary.

There are 2 positions available for suitable candidates. The following criteria are preferred:

1. Able to work with a team in circumstances that can vary substantially.

2. Able to commit a minimum of 14 days of volunteer time In Uganda

3. ACP, PCP, or Emergency nursing training and experience

4. Willing to assist in fund-raising programs

5. Adult education training and experience. (optional)

6. Photography and Video skills and equipment. (optional)

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

1. Airfare to and from Entebbe International Airport

2. Food and lodging costs while in Kampala

3. All required passports, vaccinations, and visas

There will also be opportunity to explore some of the country while you are there.. Uganda is called The Pearl of Africa, and there is much to see.
