It’s been a while, but thank you for hanging in there for our final update from phase 3. All members have made it back home safely to Canada, after a long journey. We are all missing everyone (and the hot weather) back in Uganda immensely.
We finished up our very busy final week of classes with lots of exams, final scenarios, and of course GRADUATION. We are very pleased to announce that the entire beginner class passed their exams and received their completion certificates on the last day. There was plenty of excitement, smiles, laughs and tears (mostly from Alex) as we congratulated each and every one of them for working so hard to complete this course. They also received Medic kits, which includes the tools they require, to use their knowledge and skills learnt to help out those that require emergency medical services. We hope to see many of these friendly faces back in the future for advanced classes!
The advance class finished up their final week, and are now preparing for practicums to begin at two local hospitals. There they will get the opportunity to shadow and assist Doctors and Nurses, while gaining experience in patient care, and different heath practices and procedures.
It was a very busy, but also very successful phase 3, and we are so proud of every single member who has worked so hard to make it this far. We are also incredibly thankful to all of our donors and supporters for making this all possible. We are looking forward to returning in the near future, to keep this incredible society running.
Stay tuned for our people of CUES updates!
